Since 2010, Providence Student Union has organized high school students in Providence, RI to lead their own fight for better education and well-being in their schools and communities.

Now, we’re looking for two new dedicated and movement-oriented organizers to join our team as full-time staff. Apply and join our effort to build a union for students!

Development Director

We’re looking for a development (fundraising) director who can coordinate PSU’s fundraising strategy and make sure we have the funds our members need to build/sustain a student union and win the changes they want to see.

The Development Director will:

  • build our annual fundraising plan

  • cultivate relationships with donors and potential donors

  • mentor PSU members in fundraising as a form of organizing

  • research, apply for, and report on grants

  • manage PSU financial data

  • support planning for special events

Organizing Coordinator

PSU’s Organizing Coordinator will be in the exciting role of finding and mentoring high school students to grow as leaders who run dynamic organizing campaigns. Although PSU full-time organizers never lead the work themselves, they have a critical role in advancing PSU’s mission, including:

  • working with youth to develop PSU’s annual advocacy strategy

  • mentoring a diverse set of growing student leaders

  • growing our active student membership

  • facilitating progress on PSU’s campaign efforts

  • building partnerships with local, regional, and national allies

  • ensuring success of events, actions, and membership meetings

  • documenting our organizing work
